Your Fall Elopement Venue in Monterey Awaits

You said yes, and now comes the fun part. Choosing an elopement venue that matches the size of your love story. We mean it. Our 1929 estate has quietly hosted proposals, elopements, and a fair number of happy tears. It even landed one memorable feature on the Today Show. While national acclaim is lovely, we're proud of the couples who write us letters years later. So if you’re ready, we've got a package with your names half-written on it.

The Garden That Started the Rumors

Long before hashtags, our garden was already staging quiet love stories. Oak trees planted decades ago lean in like they're eavesdropping on your vows, and the cedars pretend not to notice. Our English-style garden is exactly why this elopement venue earned its reputation. It's fragrant, a little wild, and never photographed the same way twice. Rose bushes line the path where you'll walk in, trimmed for this occasion more times than we can count.

Hummingbirds might show up uninvited, but we've never once asked them to leave. They seem to know a good ceremony when they see one. In addition, the property borders a quiet residential street, so the only traffic you'll hear is birdsong.

Our staff has also spent years quietly cultivating relationships with the best local florists, caterers, and musicians. These are the ones who actually answer their phones. So you won't need to scroll reviews at midnight, wondering who to trust.

We'll hand you a shortlist and pour you a glass of something bubbly. Then you can focus on the parts that matter, like practicing your vows without crying through the mascara

Elopement Package, Zero Spreadsheets

Our elopement package is perfect, so you can stop debating logistics and start debating honeymoon destinations. Here's what comes with our Elopement Package, made for couples who want a ceremony without a circus:

  • Two nights in our best available suite at check-in.

  • A full day of wedding coordination, so you can simply show up and cry happy tears.

  • An exclusive ceremony in our garden, weather and hummingbirds permitting.

  • Champagne, engraved flutes, and a gourmet breakfast the next morning.

  • Evening wine and hors d'oeuvres, because celebrating shouldn't stop at sundown.

40 guests fit the bill for plenty of couples, too. Our Intimate Wedding Package scales up that same magic nicely, without losing an ounce of charm. Either way, this elopement venue keeps the planning simple, and the champagne stays cold. That's really the whole point of eloping.

Ceremonies are held between 11am and 3pm, in the garden or the parlor, depending on the weather. Normal reservation policies and taxes apply, and you'll need to handle your marriage license on your own.

Rates shift by season, too, since weekday, weekend, and holiday celebrations are priced a little differently throughout the year. Email us directly at omi@oldmontereyinn.com, and we'll walk you through every detail before you commit.

Honeymoon: The Part Where You Don't Leave Yet

Weddings end, but your story doesn't have to. Extend your stay, and turn it into a Monterey honeymoon before real life comes knocking with its clipboard.

Our Honeymoon Package includes chocolate-covered strawberries and a dozen roses waiting in your room. There's also a dinner voucher worth eighty dollars at the Sardine Factory, Fandango, or Cellar 6. All three are restaurants we'd happily eat at ourselves.

Fireside wine, garden walks, private balcony stargazing – Monterey rarely lets an evening go to waste. Ask any guest who's stayed past their wedding weekend. They'll tell you the second night is often the better one, once the nerves finally settle.

Our fireplaces stay lit well into the evening, and nobody's ever complained about a second glass of wine. Request the Honeymoon Package when you book your stay online, and we'll have the champagne chilling before you arrive.

Monterey Doesn't Let You Stay Inside Long

Even the best suite has trouble competing with Monterey itself, and we say that fondly, not as a complaint. Nearby vineyards pour tastings just minutes from our door, and the coastline outperforms most wedding bands on a good day.

Once your honeymoon begins, head out for whale watching or a walk through the state reserves between events. Then they head back for the good pillows and luxury comforts. Point Lobos and the 17-Mile Drive are close enough for a half-day trip. Neither requires more effort than packing a light jacket.

We like to think that's exactly how a wedding week should work. Adventure by day, roses and candlelight by night, and nobody checking their phone during dinner. Just bring hiking boots for the trails and something a little fancier for the garden. You'll need both before the weekend is over, and neither will disappoint you.

Romance and a little mischief make a good pair. A garden that knows exactly what it's doing rounds out the philosophy behind this elopement venue. 40 guests or just the two of you, either number works beautifully for us. And we mean that every single time we say it.

Fill out our wedding inquiry form, and let's start planning your day. Your grandchildren will hear about it for years, exaggerated weather details and all. Bring your fiancé, your favorite people, and a little patience for our hummingbirds. We'll keep the champagne cold, the roses blooming, and the guest room ready until you arrive.
